Physicians, family members, friends, hospital nursing staff, medical social workers or community
agencies can call Healthstar at 218-749-9410 and ask for information about home care services. Patients
are encouraged to ask their physician, nurse or medical social worker about the health care services
they will need when they return home. The patient’s physician is then contacted to provide the final
approval for Healthstar Home Care services.

Veterans Administration (VA)
Commercial insurance
Private payment
A member of the home care staff will assist you in obtaining information regarding insurance coverage
before services are started.
Also, a registered nurse is available on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Nursing
Supervisor at the Virginia Regional Medical Center will answer the after-hours calls for
Healthstar Home Care services. She will call out a Healthstar registered nurse if it is
necessary to make an emergency home visit. After regular hours, call the VRMC Nursing
Supervisor at (218)-749-9410.
